SafeHOWs Security Alerts by Text Message
What this program is
SafeHOWs sends time-sensitive security alerts by text message to the on-duty security operators of the houses of worship and community security teams that use SafeHOWs. Alerts tell an operator, for example, that a vehicle their organization has asked to be alerted about has been observed nearby, or that an emergency vehicle has arrived at a monitored location. Each alert gives the location and time and links to the details in the SafeHOWs app, which requires a login.
Alerts are sent only to people who have personally agreed to receive them. There is no marketing or promotional content, and SafeHOWs does not text the general public.
How to enroll
Enrollment is by signed consent. An operator completes and signs the consent form below and gives it to their organization's SafeHOWs administrator, who enrolls the number. The first text confirms the enrollment and repeats how to opt out. Mobile numbers are never purchased, shared, or obtained from anyone else.
